Introduction

Gurnee Company Builders, Inc. is a family owned and operated Construction Company that specializes in high quality construction.  We set ourselves apart from other builders by refusing to cut corners and services.  Gurnee uses only products, and people that we believe in, and can therefore can stand behind.  Gurnee Company Builders has a deeply rooted reputation in the Pacific Northwest that has been earned over nearly 30 years of doing business in this area.

History

As a young man John P. Gurnee learned from his grandfather, and took a strong interest in construction.  Although John always did small construction projects on the side, it wasn’t until 1977 that he decided to make building his livelihood.  Gurnee Company Builders was born, and customers could tell that John had a strong focus on quality.  It was quality construction and making sure his customers were happy that gave John pride in his work.  John resolved to make sure that the company never lost site of these two ingredients.  Satisfied customers referred Gurnee Company Builders to friends, family, and business associates and with a sort of natural evolution the company began to specialize in large scale remodels, and new custom home construction.

  Core Employees

John’s youngest son Joe J. Gurnee has been on the job and worked with Gurnee Company Builders from the start. Growing up in the presence of hard work and pride in a job well done, Joe has been engrained with the values that John started Gurnee Company Builders with. Working with the company after school and though the summers as a boy and teenager Joe has shown a clear understanding of the principals that have allowed Gurnee Company Builders to be successful. After Graduating from Washington State University in 2000 Joe returned to the company, and has been working to continue the accomplishments of Gurnee. Joe is also a master craftsman and leads our speculative building division along with is other duties.

Jimmy Ward is the newest member of the Gurnee Company Builder team. Jim joined us in early 2007, bringing with him a product and construction knowledge that he had gained form working with a lumber wholesaler.  He is another hard worker with a great work ethic who is rapidly working his way to becoming an experienced craftsman.  Jim has a passion and aptitude for working with his hands.

As we set goals for the future, Gurnee Company Builders strives to continue to provide quality construction and a positive building experience to all of our customers.  We understand that satisfied customers are where referrals come from.  Forming strong working relationships with our clients goes hand in hand with the construction of high quality products.  Working together with our customers to build the homes of their dreams, we hope to not only leave customers eager to refer friends and family, but also leave them with a building experience that can be remembered fondly.
